Fragrant hostas tend to have big beautiful fragrant blooms in August in Minnesota.  All fragrant varieties have Hosta plantagenia in its genes as it is the only species hostas with fragrancem, and has the most fragrance.  The amount of fragrance can vary.  Fragrant hostas also general have heat and sun tolerance.  H. Aprhodite is the only or one of the few hostas with a double bloom.
